Realtor.com names Grand Rapids one of the hottest markets in 2019

With markets slowing down across the country, some hot spots are thriving. To determine the best real estate markets of 2019, Realtor.com looked at the number of sales of existing homes and their prices, along with the amount of new home construction in the 100 largest markets. They also analyzed the local economies of each area, along with population trends, unemployment rates, median household incomes, and other factors.

Forecasted median home price: $187,319
Predicted sales growth: 4% | Predicted price growth: 8.2%

When you think of a bustling job market, Grand Rapids may not be the first place that pops into mind. Our Success

DOMO, Business Analytics - Southgate office manager Tom Long proudly displays the prestigious Blue Ribbon for “Best Presentation / Best Story” at the May 16 DOMO Users Group Meeting.  The award has special meaning as the voting was done by the 14 office managers in attendance.  Second and Third place ribbons went to Gary DeGrandchamp (Dearborn)  and Suzanne O’Brien (Grosse Pointe).  DOMO is a relatively new business analytics platform that uses dashboards and graphs to visualize data.   It’s transforming how data is used in the company with easy access to Key Performance Metrics and real-time comparisons to prior periods.

Retirements

For 45 years Paula Bowman was the standard-bearer for work ethic and first-rate customer service at Reinhart.  She was the first one in the office, never took sick days, and, by example, raised the bar every day for the rest of the employees at Reinhart.  Originally she was the Reinhart “closing department”, long before title companies began to offer that service.  But even today the depth and breadth of her knowledge continued to help agents keep their deals on track and close, no matter how messy they became (she loved those the best), and nearly always on time.  She was a Reinhart hidden treasure. In addition to her Reinhart career, she has devoted over 25 years to the Wayne County League of Women Voters, many in demanding leadership roles. Congratulations Paula as you enter the next phase of your life!

On June 4, Capital Title bid a fond farewell to Nancy Thornburgh (VP of Branch Operations) as she officially transitioned into the wonderful world of retirement.  Nancy spent the past 30+ years in the mortgage and title industries and the past 11 with Capital Title.  We wish Nancy the best as she looks to spend more time on her hobbies - gardening around the house and traveling around the world.

Promotions

Karl Golicz has been promoted as the new Vice President of Branch Operations.  Karl was most recently a Regional Manager covering the Troy and Clinton Township branches for Capital Title.  Karl has been with CT for over 10 years and has over 20 years of title industry experience.  We also wish Karl the best as he takes on this new responsibility.
